This annual community event is more than a really fun fundraiser for the IWK, it’s a way for one family to heal and give back, and for other families to find support and share their stories. Jennifer Manuel, the organizer and Jessica’s mother, shared the story of the origin of the event with us and how you and your family can help give back too.

You can prepare all you want but, until you're in the thick of things, you won't know exactly what support you will need or who you can contact for help. buybuy BABY recognized that challenge when they recently hosted a Baby Registry Celebration and so they gathered up a group of industry experts to connect with expecting parents to help prepare them for the big event…and the days following.
One of the questions I am asked a lot is how local families with young children can volunteer together to teach their children from early on how to give back to their communities. The Ronald McDonald House in Halifax is hosting a super fun, all-ages PJ Walk that the whole family can get involved in! Last year the Halifax Ronald McDonald House provided 4,887 nights of comfort to 553 families travelling here for medical treatment; and, between the RMH House in Halifax and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Halifax and Moncton, they served 2,283 Maritime families.
