Christmas Crafting with Orb Factory

One of our favourite ways to get in the Christmas spirit is to decorate the house. As we pull each item out of the boxes of decorations the kids are always thrilled to see ones that they made themselves and take pride in placing it somewhere special.

This meant we were extra excited when Orb Factory sent us a couple decorations to test out and add our to collection this year!

Orb Factory Plush Craft Christmas Ornament

We did the stocking decoration first. This is part of their Plush Craft line (which we love) and is essentially a mini version of larger ones, complete with a ribbon for hanging. Miss M (5yo) is an old pro at these now and she eagerly took it and ran with it. She needed a little help around the edges but otherwise she was able to complete it all by herself and proudly hung it on the tree.

Because it's so small it only takes about 20 minutes or so to complete - perfect for a quick project when you need to keep a little one busy or want to squeeze in a little quality time sesh with your kiddo.

Orb Factory Plush Craft 3D Polar Bear

Orb Factory Plush Craft 3D Polar Bear

Then we opened the 3D polar bear plush craft. This was a little different than the plush crafts we have done in the past as the figure is, well, 3D and there are no numbers printed on the craft to match the colours up to (those there is a pattern to refer to). I'm not sure what it's made of but it's a little moulded creature (kind of like styrofoam).

You space out the plush yourself and Miss M found this one a bit more challenging (she likes specific directions) but once we got going it worked out fine. I had to be more hands-on than the stocking craft, as it was hard to hold the figure and punch the plush cloth in at the same time for her. I think a slightly older child would be fine with it though.

She loves the bright sparkly blue eyes and they stay in really well as they're more like a nail or a tack than a sticker like the other plush crafts usually have. Super cute!

The nice thing about the polar bear is that he can stick around all winter long as he's not specifically "Christmas" themed other than his mistletoe.

The only problem I foresee is Miss M thinks he's so cute that she wants to carry him around and cuddle him all day, which tends to result in some of his "fluff" getting pulled out. We just pop it back in though and it's good as new.

Now it's your chance to win* these two Christmas craft decorations just in time for the holiday break! Leave a comment below telling us us what your favourite Christmas decoration is in your house (make sure to check it off in the Rafflecopter widget to qualify!!).

*Contest open to people who are the ages of maturity in their province or state in Canada or the US (excluding Quebec).
